I've been technologically overwhelmed, forgetting all my passwords, and resisting sitting at the computer, so I haven't taken the time or energy to post lately, but I have gotten into the studio at least once this past week. Here are a few encaustic pieces ...all 5"x7" on masonite board that I've been working on...
Quan Yin in the Garden of Plenty #2
I continue to revisit quan yin in the garden thematically...heres another encaustic mixed media piece working with this lovely image of Quan Yin. I plan on carving into this piece alot more...So it is a work in progress.
DREAM
This piece is a ceramic altar plaque that I decided to paint over and fuse with imagery and encaustic paint and medium. I am intrigued with the possibility of exploring more encaustics and bisque ware, and will do more.
BIRD WOMAN
Went to a gallery opening last weekend at the Sonoma County Cultural Arts and was moved by a painting with a bird sitting on a woman's head by expressive artist, Mary Lou Downing.... I decided to play with the idea and here's an mixed media encaustic that I made with that in mind. I am a bird woman, bird lover...so this is a theme I intend to play with....

very lovely!
I am also a bird lover! I actually travel around the country doing my birdwatching and fist moved to the Southwest because of all the birds. And this one is crazy, I just signed up to go to a Prairie Chicken Festival in April in New Mexico.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by the forum (YourArtMarketing.com) and I wrote a comment about your site on StumbleUpon and also subscribed to your blog!

Hi Caterina,
I love your Bird Woman! Beautiful piece. I am really taken by your encaustic work. It is gorgeous.
I just opened my Cafe Press shop too. It's nice to see yours, it looks great! I know what you mean about telling everyone about it, that's the challenge!
