Cherries in the Air...

Can we keep our inner child's sense of wonder alive in our lives..

so that whenever we look out the window of our mind we see cherries floating through the air...and truely believe that life is just a bowl of cheries....so....

Live and Laugh at it All....

ALTERED POSTCARD Art

The semester is almost over and I am looking at more time to do art. I have been taking postcards that come in the mail and altering them with mixed media collage... Creating a series of Mythic Cards... Here are a few that I made this past week.

Spirit Dancer in Flight

although feeling under the weather, I made it to my studio and low and behold this is what came through. Just heating up the wax and playing with imagery...and then something powerful and archetypal manifested in my art. I love this piece...

this mixed media encaustic is 8"x8" on the back of a cigar box. I have fallen in love with cigar boxes again.

CLASS ARTWORK - Mixed Media & Beyond

Both of the classes that I teach at Santa Rosa Junior College have been working on mixed media collage projects. They all turned out so interesting that I have decided to post them. Here are some of the final pieces...

This assignment evolved out of a 6 week segment devoted to mandalas.

All of these mixed media mandalas were developed as Empowerment Shields.

Each one of these art pieces are powerful, unique and filled with pesonal meaning for the students.
